Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Bachelor's in Psychology Program at Walden University seeks a Walden doctoral student in a psychology program for the 10-hour per week position of Graduate Assistant (GA). The GA will assist the program with technical assistance and general administrative and support duties as assigned by the Associate Dean/Program Director or designee.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, the GA will:

  • Engage with the Associate Dean, Academic Program Coordinator, and faculty to accomplish administrative tasks including data collection and analysis, communicating with faculty, and managing special projects.
  • Be flexible to assist throughout the week to best serve the needs of the program.
  • Attend departmental and/or team meetings, as well as regular 1:1 meetings, with project supervisors.
  • Communicate with other departments, such as Academic Advising, OASIS and OIRA, when appropriate.
  • Commit approximately 40 hours per month (10 hours per week) to this role.
Qualifications

TECHNICAL, MANAGERIAL, and PEOPLE SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook).
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to run statistical analyses in SPSS and/or JASP preferred.
  • Ability to compile and report data to program leadership.
  • Ability to manage content and documentation, including data, course and student information, with fidelity and confidentiality.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be a current, active Walden doctoral student with at least four quarters or three semesters of enrollment, currently in coursework stage of program (not proposal or dissertation stage) with one residency successfully completed.
  • Must be in good academic standing with the university, with 3.5 GPA and no holds on student account.
