Reporting Relationships: The Dean of Nursing reports to a Regional Director of Nursing. The Regional Director of Nursing reports to the Vice President of Nursing.

The Dean of Nursing will play an integral role in the success and overall positive experience for students of Rasmussen College, ensuring high quality instruction in a safe and engaging learning environment.
Additional responsibilities include: Provide academic and educational leadership to faculty members, students and campus colleagues and for developing an active teaching/learning community among students and faculty on campus. Serve as the liaison between the nursing program and the larger college system and between the nursing program and the community. Provide leadership in planning and administration of the nursing program, including assessment, evaluation, development and revision of courses and overall curricula. Recruit, select and oversee the professional development of faculty members in the Nursing program. Develop and maintain course materials, including course syllabi, text books, and exams. Assist with the development of program promotional materials, open houses and other related events. Advise and counsel students in the nursing program; facilitate communication and maintain satisfactory relationships between students and faculty members. Teach courses, individual classes or seminars as qualifications permit. Monitor the execution of the planning process on behalf of the entire campus in coordination with the Director of Nursing, the Vice President of Academic Affairs and other senior management. Ensure the nursing program operations are conducted in compliance with applicable state, federal, and local laws, regulations and ordinances and within standards of accreditation.
Requirements: Masters degree in nursing, MSN/MAN from an accredited institution is a must. Active/Unencumbered RN License in the state ofcampus location. Ability to travel up to 25%, Three to five years management experience within the Nursing field, with at least two direct reports is preferred but is not required. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook). Strong interpersonal, team building and both written and verbal communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain open lines of communication with faculty, students, and campus personnel to ensure effective decision making and interaction. Excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to multi-task and high attention to detail.
