Additional Information Purpose

Be part of the CMHC Diversity Coordinator Team which includes providing clinical and outreach/prevention services to a diverse student body (undergraduate and graduate), with emphasis in working with Asian American students.

Essential Functions

Be part of the CMHC Diversity Coordinator Team which includes providing clinical and outreach/prevention services to a diverse student body (undergraduate and graduate), with emphasis in working with Asian American students. Provide leadership and coordination of efforts in offering trainings and consultation to the CMHC staff and campus partners around diversity and multiculturalism. Collaborate and build partnerships with university departments and organizations. Provide clinical training and supervision to social work and psychology interns and doctoral level practicum students. Attend and participate in departmental and division meetings and staff development programs as assigned. Participate in a multidisciplinary clinical and diversity coordinator team meetings.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Masters Degree in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work or other degree which meets eligibility requirement in Texas for licensure. Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, in the State of Texas or able to obtain licensure in Texas within one year if licensed in another state. Two years post-masters clinical experience in college or university counseling center or other relevant clinical setting. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

At least one year experience providing mental health services and outreach to Asian American college-aged students. Experience working in a college or university counseling center or outpatient mental health setting. Two years experience in providing brief individual therapy, crisis intervention, group therapy, care coordination and case management. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team integrating both a medical model and a developmental perspective. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with campus personnel, such as professionals in academic affairs and other students services providers. Experience in developing and implementing outreach programs. Training and experience in clinical supervision. Demonstrated ability to work within a large system, and to participate and collaborate effectively in a large mental health services agency. Experience providing culturally competent treatment to a diverse client population. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker for a minimum of two years.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas ( TRS ), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
