Your Role: the Human Resources Specialist provides payroll, benefits and general administrative support to the Human Resources department.  This position is responsible for managing the bi-weekly payroll process in conjunction with the HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. This role also supports elements of benefits administration as well as general department project support.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Human Resources components of the payroll process in conjunction with the HRBP
    • Data entry of new hires, terminations and all employment changes and communicate these changes on the bi-weekly payroll coversheet
    • Create and submit bi-weekly payroll coversheet in a timely manner
    • Be the point person for all payroll related inquires and work closely with the Payroll department and the HRBP to resolve any related issues
    • Support payroll audits and other compliance or yearend reporting
  • Support the HR Benefits Manager with the health & welfare programs
  • Perform general reception & office duties for the department
  • Monthly maintenance and upload of active employee roster in Success Factors Talent Management System
  • Responsible for Conflict of Interest Board program requirements: eligibility, tracking and training
  • Handle routine inquiries from inside and outside the company, answering questions and/or and direct individuals to the appropriate resource
  • Maintain employee personnel files and work authorization documentation
  • Draft companywide emails and post updates on the company internet
  • Provide general HR administrative support and project support for HR Department as needed
  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes and propose ideas related to assigned duties

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 1 year of payroll, benefits, or related experience required
  • Knowledge and proficiency in ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • General knowledge of Human Resource functions preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with strong skills in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Professional and results oriented
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be client-focused
  • Detail-oriented with solid follow-up skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to maintain the confidential nature of Human Resources work
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment and around timelines
  • New York City residency is required within 180 days of hire
