Primary Job Summary:
The Relationship Manager for National Hispanic Outreach plays a key role in assisting the USOps Senior Advisor for National Hispanic Outreach in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the U.S. Operations Hispanic outreach strategy. The Relationship Manager for National Hispanic Outreach has two main areas of responsibility: 1. Manage external U.S. Operations national initiatives, relationships, & partnerships in the areas of Hispanic outreach; and 2. Work with Headquarters units and Regional Offices to build CRS internal capacity for Hispanic Outreach. CRS has identified outreach and engagement with Hispanic Catholics as an agency priority and wants to be seen by Hispanic Catholics as the go-to agency for global solidarity.
1. Assist the USOps Senior Advisor for National Hispanic Outreach in coordinating the development, implementation, and evaluation of the U.S. Operations Hispanic outreach strategy and annual plan to increase awareness and engagement of the Hispanic Catholic community in Global Solidarity initiatives through CRS.
2. Collaborate with the Ministry Resource Specialist in the creation of bilingual and culturally appropriate ministry resources and inform CRS staff of their availability in a timely manner.
3. Perform necessary research on Hispanic Outreach and prepare background materials, reports and documents as requested by the USOps Senior Advisor for National Hispanic Outreach.
4. W ork closely with department/unit/regional directors and key staff to ensure Hispanic outreach is an integral part of their unit plans and that high quality resources and programming are being developed and offered to advance the CRS Hispanic outreach strategy.
5. Assist the USOps Senior Advisor for National Hispanic Outreach in building and maintaining partnerships and engagement with national and regional Hispanic Catholic Organizations (like NCCHM, NCADDHM, La RED, FIP, CALL, Lay Apostolic Movements and others). Collaborate with the CRS Partnership, Training, and Engagement Unit, and Regional Offices in order to leverage the partnerships to their fullest potential by providing opportunities for leadership and engagement in CRS programs and resources through national and regional Hispanic Catholic Partners.
6. Assist the USOps Senior Advisor for National Hispanic Outreach in coordinating CRS participation, engagement and impact on the National V Encuentro process of Latino/Hispanic ministry at all levels: parish, diocesan, regional and national.
7. Assist in leading the work with the USOps Diversity Cross Divisional Team (DCDT) including: development and implementation of annual strategic plan and related reports; coordination of annual in-person meeting; facilitation of conference calls; etc.
8. Offer (both internal & external) workshops, presentations and training sessions aimed at awareness, leadership development, and engagement in CRS programs and resources.
9. Assist with divisional planning, monitoring and evaluation as needed.
10. Other duties as needed to advance USOps' Hispanic outreach strategy.
11. Success will result in increased engagement, awareness and program participation.
Key Working Relationships:
USOps Senior Advisor for National Hispanic Outreach (Supervisor); Diversity Cross Divisional Team (DCDT); US Regional Directors and Relationship Managers; US Operations headquarters unit managers and team members; MarCom staff, Advocacy, and Human Resources staff.
As appropriate: national and regional organizations serving Hispanic Catholics; US Bishops and USCCB staff; diocesan directors and other National partners and Catholic agencies; other US-based international organizations; foundations and other public and private donors.
1. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Non-Profit or Organizational Management or equivalent.
2. Minimum 5 years of working experience in Ministry related positions at national, regional or diocesan level.
3. Strong background and experience with the Hispanic Catholic community including familiarity with leaders, organizations, and trends.
4. Proven ability to coordinate groups and programs.
5. Experience and capability in strategic planning, program development and management.
6. In-depth knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and its practical application.
7. In-depth knowledge of and ability to work within the structures of the US Catholic Church.
8. Knowledge of international humanitarian issues.
9. Proven ability to work collaboratively with peers and executive management.
10. Superior interpersonal and people skills; project coordination.
11. Superior written and verbal communications and presentation skills.
12. Ability to manage multiple priorities.
13. Ability to travel within the United States and occasionally overseas (approx. 30% of time).
Foreign Language Required: Fluent Spanish Required (Written and Verbal)
