The Patient Service Coordinator will handle all administrative (non-clinical) aspects of the patient encounter, assisting each and every patient to achieve the Ideal Patient Encounter, and maintaining accurate information on each patient to facilitate the encounter. Offers friendly, courteous assistance to every patient to ensure that the patient has a positive, professional experience while at Johns Hopkins. Since most administrative tasks will be expedited with the use of automated scheduling, registration and billing systems, the patient coordinator will need to be proficient on the appropriate computer systems.
Act in lead role with focus on front desk operations using EPIC 2012 for patient registration, scheduling, authorization maintenance, work queue and InBasket monitoring. The front desk staff in Meyer 144 register/schedule, check-in/out patients, bill hospital charges for faculty, maintain provider templates as well as obtain and track authorizations for high volume clinics within the Community Psychiatry Program (CPP, IOP, Hispanic Clinic). They also provide support Resident Clinic patients for 35 residents


Full Time (40 hours)  

Day Shift   8:30AM   to 5 PM  


Meyer 180  


Diploma/Certificate/GED required  

Patient Service Coordinator II: 6 months to 1 year Experience
Patient Service Coordinator III: 2 Years Experience

Medical insurance knowledge, Medical Terminology, front desk dealing with customer service  


Works in normal office environment where there is little discomfort to due to the extremes of heat, dust, noise, temperature and the like  

Pay Grade: NE
