Additional Information Purpose
Develop, plan and execute marketing initiatives for PETEX that support business goals of growth and robust ongoing presence in oil and gas industry markets. In partnership with the TEXAS Extended Campus Marketing Director and Director of PETEX, create and coordinate effective marketing strategies and campaigns.
Develop and support impactful integrated marketing campaigns for PETEX. Use research and analytics to create and execute a wide variety of short- and long-term marketing activities including strategic plans, digital marketing, email broadcast campaigns, social media, advertising, marketing trade shows and events, public relations outreach activities with associations and community engagement events and other activities designed to accomplish PETEX objectives. Plan, create and execute marketing tactics including digital and traditional advertising and promotional efforts, e-mail blasts, social media, automated campaigns, retargeting and event marketing and communications. Plan, test and optimize messaging and creative executions to drive growth. Support development of landing pages on appropriate websites for specific campaigns. Develop and track marketing budget and schedule for deliverables. Track and report on success of marketing initiatives. Support the management of PETEX website with new content, including written copy, development and creation of customized registration pages for special programs, placement of tracking codes and development and execution of SEO strategies. Develop and coordinate approval of marketing materials including brochures, newsletters, fliers, display ads, articles, press releases, website content, email campaign messaging, and customer communications. Understand, adhere to and help implement Extended Campus Marketing and branding policies and guidelines and support division-wide marketing initiatives where appropriate. Manage marketing contact database and marketing lists for PETEX and in coordination with the marketing team members across the organization. Develop and grow contact database via strategic marketing programs and data mining techniques. Prepare marketing reports and analyze progress towards goals and recommendations. Become an expert on PETEX products, services, and markets. Mine the CRM database for customer segments and marketing opportunities. Examine market, audience, sales, and customer data to plan relevant campaign initiatives using a variety of venues and outlets. Determine PETEX's presence at trade shows. Research potential events to attend. Participate with occasional presence at trade shows by working at the booth to promote products and services. Oversee the collateral necessary to display and distribute in support of PETEX product lines as appropriate according to the nature of the event. Research organizational involvement for marketing communication purposes including websites and media that might provide exposure of PETEX products and services and potentially provide other assistance of benefit to PETEX. Coordinate with PETEX lines of business and operations to plan and execute tasks.
Other related functions as assigned. Drive a UT vehicle or personal vehicle as needed. Must be able to travel for business purposes.
Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related field. Three years of experience in promotions, marketing, or related field. Demonstrated experience as an effective marketing communication writer. Experience developing and executing digital and traditional marketing plans and measuring campaign effectiveness. Experience conducting competitive analyses. Experience with trade shows and exhibits. Comfort level and ability to travel and meet clients in various venues as requested. Experience organizing and leading productive meetings and projects. Ability to learn quickly and work well independently, on teams, and under pressure. Demonstrated exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Professional demeanor. Display confidence in relating to senior-level professionals both internally and externally. Regular and punctual attendance at the workplace. Occasional extra work hours required according to business needs. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
More than five years of experience in promotions, marketing, or related field. People skills as demonstrated by experience in customer-centric settings. Experience in marketing professional education or services. Knowledge of the oil and gas industry. Experience as both a team member and a team leader. Project management experience a plus. Public speaking experience and comfort level giving presentations.
May work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Lifting and moving Occasional overtime including evenings. Some travel required. Travel between Houston and Austin, and between the main UT Austin campus and the PETEX Office at the Pickle Research Center in northwest Austin. Also, travel for trades shows.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas ( TRS ), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
