Description AVANGRID's Legal group is seeking an individual to team with its legal group at UIL Holdings Corporation, its subsidiary, in providing top tier service to AVANGRID'S businesses. The individual will be responsible for assisting the attorneys in the department with legal research and review of legal issues.

The individual will also participate in proceedings at the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority in New Britain, CT.

Duties will include:

  • Research legal statutes/cases and provide written results.
  • Provide assistance with drafting and reviewing agreements, briefs, documents.
  • Provide written memos analyzing legal issues identified by attorneys.
  • Attend proceedings at PURA as observer.
  • Participate in preparation of filings made at PURA.
  • Review and summarize relevant parts of CT statutes and regulations.
  • Any additional activities as defined by management.

    Requirements Required Education & Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a law degree at an accredited law school

  • Available to work 40 hours a week
  • Experience with Legal Research resources
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

    Special Requirements and Other Information:

  • Candidates must provide their own transportation to/ from work
  • This is a paid position
  • This position is set to begin May 30, 2017
