The MRI Technologist performs professional duties involved in a variety of technical procedures to apply magnetic resonance imaging for radiological diagnosis of patients of all ages. The duties of the MRI Technologist include, but are not limited to, the following: May be exposed to infectious diseases, bio-hazardous and hazardous materials. Must work with physicians, other healthcare providers and patients under stressful and adverse patient conditions (confused, combative, sedated, etc.). Physical requirements include lifting, prolonged periods of standing, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, walking and the ability to cope with high stress and conflict, etc.
What We Require:
Education: High school graduate or GED and Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology required. Experience: CPR required. MRI experience preferred but not required. Licensure/Certification: Certified/registered by the ARRT in MRI or certified/registered in an Imaging profession by the ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS or a candidate for the MRI advance certification by meeting the ARRT candidate requirements. MRI technologists employed after May 1, 2014 have one (1) year to complete their advanced MRI certification. AHA BLS-HCP required. MRI certificate accepted. Other: Good interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility in assignments. About Carilion
