JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Obtain job assignments from supervisor or manager.
* Work safely in accordance to plant safety guidelines including cardinal rules of safety.
* Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
* Unload and load material.
* Perform daily inspection of equipment such as grinders, forklift, overhead cranes, etc.
* Compete production reports accurately and timely.
* Perform transactions in Quality Management System as applicable.
* Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition
* Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
* Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required
* Performs other duties as requested by lead, supervisor or manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.
* High school diploma or GED required;
* Minimal 0 to 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment;
* Prior military experience; or technical certification / degree
* Experience working in a weld environment
* Grind experience
* Basic English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions.
* Basic use and interpretation of measuring equipment such as tape measure, micrometer, caliper, etc.
* Basic understanding of grinding functions.
* The ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimals.
* Ability to communicate effectively to team members, lead, supervisor, manager or others.
* The ability to operate forklift, overhead crane, pallet jack, and fixtures.
* Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment
* Constant exposure to moderate noise
* Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
* Must be able to work any shift including overtime, weekends and holidays if scheduled.
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
* Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
* Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing and pulling of materials.
* Must be able to safety operate an overhead crane and forklift.
* Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.
* Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
* Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment including respirator.
* Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
* Visual acuity skills to operate powered industrial equipment to load and to unload parts into / onto equipment and to transport parts into other areas of the facility.
