THE HIGH LEVEL

Iron Bow Technologies is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support an existing, long time Federal Government customer, the Department of Justice (DOJ). Our Systems Administrator is responsible for operations and utilities on the customer servers. We seek a Systems Administrator with expertise with Windows operating systems, and who will be responsible for configuration, patch management, version and sub-version upgrades. Our Systems Administrator will be focused on server availability ensuring that the DOJ Civil Division (CIV) data is secure and meets DOJ requirements. This position requires a hybrid schedule with onsite work at the customer site in Washington, DC, currently planned for 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Our Systems Administrator is part of a dynamic team of engineers who ensure the CIV IT infrastructure is available 24x7x365. Responsibilities include:



  • Provide infrastructure support which includes monitoring of the datacenter and CIV Assets, as well as virtual desktop infrastructure support.
  • Identify weak points/gaps in the architecture, provide recommendations to improve operations and the end user experience
  • Perform Account Administration services which include user account administration, e-mail accounts administration/provisioning, e-mail archiving/vaulting, and data files management (creation, deletion, backup and restoration).
  • Support engineering, product integration and deployment of IT systems.
  • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly scheduled network backups; restore data as required to support systems and data recovery due to hardware, software or user error; verify and validate the integrity of the backups and perform recovery tests or drills monthly in coordination with Government guidance.
  • Support/troubleshoot/update/monitor the health of VMware Workspace ONE UEM; troubleshoot any client connectivity issues and monitor for Network Operations Center (NOC) outages and communicate with the customer.
  • Monitor the database environment to ensure availability and required performance.
  • Create design and implementation documents (to include network diagrams, system component diagrams, etc.) as well as test plans, operation manuals and training.
  • Work with other agencies, divisions and organizations to implement federally mandated solutions and shared services.
  • Participate in organizational change management processes, ensuring all changes are recorded and approved.
  • Resolve problems that have been escalated from the help desk.
  • Follow SOPs, and well as recognize SOPs that need update or clarity, and support getting this knowledge to the team for update.



WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE



  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with server administration (Windows 2012, 2016, 2019)
  • Being onsite on planned days - this position does require onsite support 3 days/week, with remote support 2 days/week.
  • Must be able to work within a team, providing primary and backup support as needed on various projects.
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DFS, Clustered and stand-alone servers.
  • Experience installing, managing, and upgrading Windows-based systems and servers, a well as racking hardware, running cabling (copper/fiber) and monitoring data center operations/availability.
  • Knowledge of virtualization concepts (VMware).
  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions, tape robots and virtual tape solutions, and with Windows ACLs and permissions.
  • Analyzing system error logs and troubleshooting user-reported errors.
  • Experience creating system documentation, such as SOPs.
  • Would be preferred if your experience also includes:
  • COTS deployment and integration
  • vulnerability remediation
  • windows Image creation and deployment
  • knowledge of Windows domain migration and consolidation
  • data migration experience
  • US citizenship - TS with SCI eligibility is required - an existing active TS clearance is preferred, will also consider a candidate who does not hold but is eligible to receive.
  • BS. in Information Technology or a closely related field.
  • Certification requirements are: M365A or CCNA or Server+ - have certs coming in or commit to obtaining within 6-months of hire.



TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires candidates based in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area so that they are accessible to multiple DC-area locations. There are no travel requirements outside the DC metro area.
