Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm (must be flexible)

$18.02 - $25.23 USD Hourly

Laboratory Assistant II is responsible for assisting the pathologists, pathology assistants, histology, cytology and or molecular staff as needed to ensure proper workflow of the departments: daily duties may include instrument maintenance/cleaning, quality assurance and data entry. This position may prepare specimens using specific technical equipment and procedures.

You Will:

  • Ability to perform support functions in the laboratory.
  • Perform Sendouts laboratory duties
  • Maintain equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed.
  • Provide accurate and timely receiving and processing of specimens.
  • Assist Pathologists' Assistants, Histology, Cytology and Molecular departments, as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of current CAP requirements and State & Federal regulations
  • Quality control data entry
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent: associate or bachelor's degree in laboratory science, preferred
  • Competency with computers and MS Office programs
  • Ability to maintain accuracy, especially with numeric sequencing.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Adhere to HIPAA patient confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities.
  • Laboratory experience and possessing send-outs familiarity, both preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
