This role will sit either in Washington, D.C. (remote), or our Scottsdale, AZ office.

Overall Purpose

This position will serve as an internal resource supporting efforts to protect and advance Early Warning's interests in federal and state public policy matters by delivering accurate and timely information and insights on implications to the business arising from legislation and regulation of importance to the company. The position will also support the Government Relations team as a integral part of the policy team with responsibility for preparing federal lobbying reports, materials to support lobbying efforts, and other backgrounders and presentations to both external and internal audiences.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor, track, analyze and prioritize federal and state regulatory and legislative issues (legislation and regulations) and trends on issues of importance to the company, using domain knowledge to identify risks and opportunities to the company.
  • Prepare backgrounders, issue briefs, talking points, position papers, presentations, and other analyses for presentation to key internal and external stakeholders on monitored issues.
  • Engage and work collaboratively with the Government Relations team, other internal business units, and outside consultants and trade associations to monitor policy developments, develop positions, and make recommendations on strategy.
  • Assist in managing the effective and timely communication of legislative developments affecting the company and its stakeholders.
  • Create dashboard reports covering the major issues the company is monitoring for regular dissemination to management.
  • Compile information and prepare and file required lobbying reports.
  • Serve as liaison to internal teams in the company to identify cross-collaboration opportunities.
  • Develop methodologies and best practices to ensure efficient workflows.
  • Support the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor's degree.
  • 3 or more years of proven experience conducting analysis of legislation and regulations and their effects on an organization.
  • Knowledge of the legislative process.
  • Understanding of financial services/payments landscape.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to tailor information to audience.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Background and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.

The base pay scale for this position in:

Washington, DC (Remote) USD per year is: $100,000 - $115,000.
