Description of primary duties and responsibilities: |
Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:
The Fayetteville State University (
FSU) Central Stores/Receiving falls under the organizational structure of Business Services within the Business and Finance Division. The Department's mission is to provide timely delivery of products essential to daily departmental operations, retrieve surplus property, and manage event setup. Using an empowered team approach, our goal is to focus on continuous improvement of customer relations while maintaining our commitment to providing the highest level of service possible.
Activities performed through the Central Stores/Receiving Department, but not limited to, are as follows:
* Scan all incoming goods.
* Set-up and delivery of all goods to respective departments and custodians.
* Acceptance and storage of surplus items and University records per retention schedule.
* Serves as a central point for all outgoing freight for vendor return.
* Event Setup scheduling
- Receipting in Ebuy for invoice payment
Central Receiving/Surplus Property intends to acquaint University departments with the services offered by this unit and discuss ways in which departments can assist Central Receiving in meeting its responsibilities to the University community. |
Description of Work Continued: |
Primary Purpose of Position:
The work of this class requires performing various clerical in the requisitioning, receiving, storage of surplus and completing purchase orders. Work is performed in accordance with established stock-keeping procedures and requires the use of physical strength to handle stored items and materials. Individual assists in the operation of the Central Receiving Warehouse and is accountable for maintaining shipments received in surplus, as well as event setup. Work is evaluated by the Central Receiving Warehouse Manager occasional physical checks of items stored in the receiving and organizing warehouse. This position is required to perform other administrative duties as assigned by the
AVC of Auxiliary Services.
Work Schedule:
The standard work schedule for the Central Receiving Support Services Associate is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, occasional after hours and weekend work is required during peak receiving periods such as the beginning of each academic semester, events or during year-end close

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: |
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Knowledge skills and abilities: |
Ability to lift heavy equipment, furniture, packages, etc. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
- Previous experience in warehouse operations.
- Experiencing using Outlook, Word, Excel.
