Job Description Pay Range: Starting at $19.50 an hour Role: The Accounting Assistant is a versatile role that supports the financial management and operations of the Credit Union. This position provides administrative support to the Accounting department by maintaining records and reports. The Accounting Assistant is responsible for a wide range of tasks, from reconciling accounts, including general ledger accounts, to handling invoices and other relatively simple tasks within the accounting department. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Performance Measurements: Keep all assigned General Ledger (GL) accounts current and in balance daily according to established department standards. Process and reconcile daily official check settlement, stop payments, and requests for check copies and reconcile the corresponding GL account in accordance with established department standards. Maintain cash logbook, process daily cash management activity and post proper GL entries in a timely and accurate manner. Prepare all reports within the prescribed time frame with zero errors. Provide helpful and informative service and support to all members and associates. Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner. Knowledge and Skills: Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience. Education: A high school education or GED. Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. Other Skills: Must be able to operate 10-key calculator by touch. Should know how to use PC spreadsheet software. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English clearly. Work Environment: The position is based in-office in our Pensacola, FL market, operates primarily in an office setting, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. This position requires consistent presence in the office to effectively collaborate with team members and fulfill job responsibilities. It requires the ability to actively participate in conference calls and meetings with other Credit Union team members and vendors. The normal expected work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. Occasional after-hours work or travel may be required to meet project deadlines or attend training.
