Job Description

Role:

Responsible for providing financial analysis in the areas of budgeting, financial forecasting, interest rate risk, asset/liability management, peer group reporting, financial performance, and profitability. Analyzes financial opportunities and performance for use by Senior Management, the Board of Directors, and the Asset/Liability Committee on a recurring basis.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Creates and prepares financial analyses and models to support financial decisions and provide insight into the financial condition of the credit union

Works directly with department heads to prepare budget and forecasts for the Credit Union

Creates and maintains required databases and models to ensure accuracy and quality of data

Assists in special assignments requested by management

Assists in the management of the investment portfolio and selection of individual items to be purchased within the framework of the investment policy.

Provides recommendations to management regarding data management, modeling, and enhancements

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

Databases and models are maintained accurately and function with integrity; reports are produced on a timely basis and contain current data.

Analyses and reports are timely and presented in a clear and organized fashion.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: One to three years of experience in a quantitative and analytical role. If no experience, a 4-year college degree in finance or accounting is required.

Education: 4-year college degree in finance, accounting, or related field

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills: Knowledge of computer skills including Excel and financial-related software. Must be comfortable developing, interpreting and communicating complex financial models and information. Knowledge of business intelligence software preferred. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English clearly. Normally expected to work between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., but may be required to work nights and/or weekends. Must adhere to safety rules and regulations.

Physical Requirements: Light or low amount of physical exertion
