Job Summary

Coordinates and facilitates the FIU NWCNHS Undergraduate Nursing program pre-admissions and enrollment processes including candidate recruitment, undergraduate program application processing, interview coordinating, maintenance of file including obtaining translated transcripts, enrollment, undergraduate program application processing, undergraduate application (BSN) student services, and day to day operations of the Nursing programs. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Student Services Enrollment & Admissions.

  • Coordinates the student application process and works with candidates through the entire recruitment process. Assists in the dissemination of academic information to prospective students.
  • Collaborates with the Chair of Undergraduate Nursing and designees on prospective student issues. Reports application and admission data as needed and assists with admission decision-making process.
  • Collaborates with College staff to foster the highest standards of quality customer service and educational value in all programs.
  • Coordinates the academic admission and pre-admission advising for the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences undergraduate nursing applicants. Interprets student requests and delegates the inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Responsible for pre-admissions communication by proactively using software systems to communicate with prospective students and applicants prior to student program admissions.
  • Reviews transcripts, calculations, and records GPAs. Critically analyzes transcripts for the relevance of degree, grades, and extraction of appropriate GPA for calculation purposes.
  • Creates, updates, analyzes, and maintains accurate database of application and admission date for the programs. Able to create and run queries in Panthersoft, as well as retrieve, critically analyze, and manipulate raw data for accurate tracking of applicant and admission numbers.
  • Develops and completes annual professional development plans. Attends meetings and serves on University of College committees as requested.
  • Responsible for liaison activities among other departments; to include coordinating with University Admissions, Registrar, etc. to facilitate admissions, communicating requirements to prospective applicants and current students.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the NWCNHS Student Services Pre-admission advising process. Interpret and implements policies and procedures and takes initiative to make recommendations.
  • Coordinates the planning and implementation of the delivery of student services.
  • Works to design, coordinate and implement new admission procedures as needed (i.e. rolling admissions).
  • Coordinates logistics of new student orientations, networking socials, and any other program events. Responsible for meeting goals and objectives for the function of or service.
  • Ensures compliance with FIU policies, procedures, practices, and programs, and with federal, state, and local legal/regulatory standards.
  • Conducts open houses, information sessions, and class visits to promote nursing programs.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of appropriate experience, or Master's degree and one (1) year of appropriate experience.
