Dollar Bank is hiring for a Public Affairs Coordinator.
In this role, you will assist in the day-to-day operation of the Bank's Public Affairs department and collaborate with staff at all levels of the organization, as well as with members of the media, nonprofit partners, political liaisons and others to support all bank related communications. This role provides cross-functional support of varying degrees on the four key functions of the Public Affairs department: internal and external communications, community relations, and government relations- to keep our employees, customers and communities informed. Candidate will have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule after successful training. Qualifications: * College degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or related field. Will consider professional experience in lieu of education * Two (2) years of banking and/or administrative experience * Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel + (Candidate will be tested for Excel) o PowerPoint and Access experience is a plus * Experience with Canva design or other design software preferred * Strong written and verbal communication skills to include email, social media, newsletters o Writing sample will be required * Proactive, reliable, responsible, and accurate with strong attention to detail * Experience managing and maintaining internal communication tools (i.e., internal email software, intranet) Principal Activities and Duties: COMMUNICATIONS * Conduct research and provide support on internal company announcements, cultural acknowledgements, fundraising campaigns, informational articles and press releases * Assist with the planning, scheduling, and publishing of content across various internal communications platforms * Maintain and update content calendars for coordinated delivery of intranet posts, emails and press releases * Follow established procedures and guidelines to handle inquiries and resolve concerns to ensure annual internal and external communication strategies are on track * Assist with the Public Affairs inboxes and incoming phone calls, email distribution lists, and responding to inquiries in a timely manner * Assist with creation and monitoring of media relations reporting and lists * Post social media content as directed using native platforms or Hootsuite COMMUNITY RELATIONS * Serve as the primary contact for all Public Affairs related contributions, foundation requests, and provide administrative support for the Dollar Bank Foundation and Contributions Working Group * Assist the Vice President of Public Affairs with management of the Bank's corporate giving software, ensuring efficient processes and effective reporting * Maintain collaborative and responsive relationships with community and public interest groups * Prepare all meeting documentation, agendas, meeting minutes, and scheduling for corporate contribution meetings and Dollar Bank Foundation meetings. Prepare all checks requests, create letters to organizations regarding our donation, and distribute checks to non-profits * Maintain accurate contributions budgets in all markets working closely with accounting * Manage timeline of giving and all non-profit communication prior to and after committee approval and check distribution for marketing collateral, event attendance, and payment processes. * Administrative management of the Dollar Bank gift matching program * Provide scheduling and communication support of Dollar Bank's Volunteer Program, United Way Campaign and High School Scholarship Program GOVERNMENT RELATIONS * Work with VP of public affairs to complete and submit all required state and FEC reporting requirement ADMINISTRATIVE * Manage the Public Affairs and Volunteer Program inbox and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner * Schedule meetings for the Public Affairs staff. * Provide additional administrative support as needed All employees have the responsibility and the accountability to serve as risk managers for their businesses by understanding, reporting, responding to, managing, and monitoring the risk they encounter daily as required by Dollar Bank's risk management program.
