We're actively seeking a talented Sr Bank Loan Ops Analyst I to join our Fixed Income Operations team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.

As a Sr Bank Loan Ops Analyst I you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by contributing to the efficient handling of complex syndicated bank loan and middle market loan activity, including the timely capture of Security Master and Trade data. You will fill a role that sits on a team of currently 7 people in the Pacific Life Investment division.

How you'll help move us forward:
* Be actively involved in the full trade lifecycle for syndicated bank loans and middle market loans, ensuring accurate trade capture, settlement, and reconciliation.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of standard LSTA docs, Legal agreements, common loan terms, complexities, and post-settlement events.
* Handle daily capture of trade activity via STP workflow, troubleshoot automated file errors, working closely with IT team to resolve and drive effective communication with various internal/extermal teams.
* Proactively interact and coordinate with Custodian Banks, Paying Agents, Borrowers, Legal Firms, 3rd Party Investment Managers and varied internal teams to collaborate on complex transactions and resolve technical or operational hurdles that may arise.
* Conduct deep-dive research on income and position discrepancies, coordinate closely with internal teams and utilize advanced problem-solving skills to resolve and remain attentive to opportunities for added efficiencies.
* Demonstrate a strong knowledge of each security traded by PL and its Entities, including settlement mechanics, Security Master terms, cashflow models, ratings
* Exhibit a strong understanding of Operational risks, downstream impact of errors, inaccurate data, insufficient controls
* Demonstrate thorough understanding of the end-to-end workflow of several operational areas including trade capture, trade confirmation, corporate actions, trade and position reconciliations

* Demonstrate and represent Subject Matter Expertise in all facets of the Investment Operations workflow, including regulatory framework and its application to investment operations.

The experience you bring:
* 5+ years' experience working in investment operations/middle office role in insurance, asset management, hedge fund, or investment banking
* College degree in finance, accounting, similar discipline and/or equivalent work experience
* Working knowledge of the following systems: Bloomberg AIM, Business Objects, MS Office Suite, ePAM
* Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
* Foundational understanding of Investment Operational methods, market trends, technology, and workflows
* Well-rounded experience providing full operational support to Portfolio Management and Credit Analysis teams across varied asset classes, including Private Placements, Middle Market Loans, Working Capital Finance Notes
* Strong ability to work autonomously, adhere to established controls and procedures, exhibiting keen attention to detail and accuracy while also collaborating with peers, clients, stakeholders, 3rd party vendors and teams across business areas to accomplish core goals.

* Familiarity with Private Placements
* Prior involvement with coordinating Asset Transfers, Free Receipts and Free Deliveries
* Proficiency with Nexen, Bloomberg API, Excel, ePAM, SQL, Power BI, Power Automate

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$48.33 - $59.07
