The Sarver Heart Center is seeking Research Technician II's to provide basic experiment support and execution, equipment maintenance, and data collection and analysis duties for the various labs in the Center. Duties & Responsibilities |
Perform Experiments:
- Performs basic set up of research experiments and tests and conducts these experiments according to defined protocols.
- Seeks guidance from the PI and other lab members, as needed.
- Become familiar with study, applicable background research, laboratory protocols and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with lab procedures, protocols, and quality control.
Equipment:
- Set up lab equipment and operate surgical devices following established instruction and procedures.
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot scientific apparatuses, equipment and instruments specific to assignment.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain lab equipment.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Assist with research sample collection and specimen preparation.
- Maintain logs, records, notes, data, and spreadsheets to document the results of experiments and facilitate data analysis.
- Collect and compile research data. Complete basic calculations of test results.
Administrative:
- Provides routine and technical administrative support to research projects (ordering supplies, maintain inventory, scanning, photocopies, labeling, filing, record keeping, etc.)
- Participate in lab meetings and other scientific discussions.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Prior experience in cardiology research techniques (cardiology background preferred).
- Prior surgical experience working with small/large animals to include aseptic surgical techniques.
- Experience with interpretation of cardiac MRI, electrocardiograms, echocardiograms.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
