Job Description: Assistant Project Manager - Airside Civil Works

Pay Range: $70,000.00-$90,000.00

Schedule Typically Monday through Friday and additional days as needed

Position Summary

The position of Assistant Project Manager - Airside Civil Works will support the Airside Civil Works Project Manager and coordinate the construction activities for certain construction activities of the project segment. The Assistant Project Manager - Airside Civil Works shall have the responsibility to support site administration and coordination of site operations, quality control, health and safety, and cost control for field operations of a defined area or type of construction activities for the project under the direction of the Building Manager.

Job Duties

  • Report to the Project Manager, implement, manage, maintain, and administer certain processes related to construction as required.

  • Perform quantity take-offs and cost estimates.

  • Inspect quality of work and safety compliance according to available standards.

  • Support Project Manager with onsite control of field works (quality, safety, and compliance of the Design).

  • Prepare and maintain schedule of work and monitor labor schedules as needed.

  • Review Contractors order and inspect reception of materials, supplies, tools, and equipment.

  • Review proposed change orders and perform cost control of relevant activities.

  • Review contractors invoicing assessing works performed to date.

  • Recommend solutions to design changes throughout construction process.

  • May manage subcontractor scope of work respective to various contracts.

  • Any other reasonable request deemed necessary by management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or equivalent.

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing subcontractors and self-perform work on similar construction projects.

  • Experience with PANYNJ and other NYC entities is prefered.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent command of Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience in heavy civil construction is recommended

  • Ability to influence and lead the assignment of others
