In the coming years, the Center will be activated by a highly visible, public facing program of topflight speakers, debates, briefings, and panels designed to speak to major policy issues of our time, policy work conducted on behalf of the State of California and the legislature, and to the groundbreaking work of UC students and faculty throughout the UC system. Administered by the Office of the President and activated by researchers and students from across the UC system, the UCSPC is located within walking distance of the state capital in Sacramento and serves as a lively civic space for events, debates, gatherings, meetings and more. The Center will be a locus for drawing attention to collaborative policy research efforts within and between the campuses, and a conduit for making that research available to state policymakers.
