Summary:

The Behavioral HealthCare Program (BHCP) Insurance Navigator assists both patients and providers to navigate their behavioral health care access, benefits, and claims. The Insurance Navigator is "the voice of the business," and responds to member and provider inquiries primarily through telephone interaction. The navigator is responsible for providing timely and accurate responses to all BHCP customers in a professional manner. The navigator works in a fast-paced environment with a changing workload.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High School Diploma or GED/HiSET
2. License/Certifications: N/A
3. Experience: 2-4 years of advanced customer service experience required, health care industry experience or experience with health care benefits management or interpretation preferred
4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Experience managing customers or patients who are experiencing significant stress. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work both independently and to collaborate with teams of individuals in diverse settings. Ability to manage conflict, stress and multiple simultaneous work demands in an effective, professional manner. Ability and willingness to self-motivate, prioritize, and be willing to change processes to improve effectiveness. Ability to adapt to changing organizational priorities. Knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office. Able to learn new software systems quickly.
