This experienced Systems Administrator will provide Amazon Web Services (AWS) IAAS and PAAS, Linux, and cloud-based infrastructure support. The ideal candidate brings deep AWS and Linux expertise, general Windows Server support capabilities, and hands-on experience with cloud-managed databases, including Snowflake and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and optimize AWS infrastructure, including EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Systems Manager (SSM), ELB, and CloudFormation
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Support Windows Server environments as needed, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Implement and manage cloud databases such as SQL PaaS and Snowflake
  • Automate system tasks using Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripting
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
  • Ensure proper access control, compliance, and audit readiness through IAM roles and logging strategies
  • Patch system vulnerabilities according to predefined SLAs
  • Support backup, DR, and high-availability planning for critical infrastructure

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology related field with 5 years' practical experience or 10 years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education
  • Minimum of 5 years of extensive and applied experience administering Windows Server OS 2012R2, or better (Standalone & Cluster) patching, domain admin, network configuration, security monitoring
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience deploying and managing AWS core services: EC2, IAM, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, VPC, ELB, CloudTrail, and SSM
  • Strong experience with Linux administration (Amazon Linux, Ubuntu, RHEL)
  • Practical knowledge of cloud databases such as RDS and Snowflake, with strong SQL capabilities
  • Expertise in SQL Server migrations and upgrades
  • Proven experience in Windows Server OS upgrades (2012/2016/2019/2022)
  • Scripting experience using Bash, Python, or PowerShell
  • Functional knowledge of network administration
  • Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, ECS, EKS) a plus
  • AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator) also a plus
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without employer sponsorship

Stout is required by applicable state and local laws to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The range for this role considers several factors including but not limited to prior work and industry experience, education level, and unique skills. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
