Job Summary:
This position manages all day-to-day operations of the Radiology Provider Group. The Manager's responsibilities include staffing, supervision, productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Determines the appropriate number of qualified and competent providers needed to ensure effective patient care.
- Recruits, selects, evaluates, delegates, and motivates Associates.
- Oversees provider onboarding, maintenance of licensure, credentials, and hospital privileges.
- Monitors ongoing competency of the providers. Provides periodic re-evaluation of job functions (inter/intradepartmental) to ensure the most efficient use of personnel.
- Manages provider scheduling and payroll. Coordinates locum/contracting staffing.
- Monitors provider capacity to current and projected volumes, ensures full coverage based on licensing/credentialing and subspecialty, and identifies and resolves potential problems before they arise.
- Maintains the annual operating budget by analyzing statistical information and takes action when appropriate. Works with the Revenue Cycle department to maximize revenue cycle and billing compliance.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
- Monitors the clinical quality management programs. Maintains the provider peer review program, providing reports to the hospital Quality department as required.
- Tracks key group metrics, implements improvement programs, and supports a team-oriented environment for radiologists. Keeps team members focused on departmental goals and objectives.
- Optimizes workflow processes by appropriately planning and advocating for the needs of internal and external customers. Serves as a leader in improving patient satisfaction across the department.
- Handles communication of key issues to providers, resolves conflicts, manages special projects, and acts as a liaison with Radiology leadership.
- Develops interdisciplinary relationships that foster effective planning, teamwork, mutual respect, collaboration and integration of services with other departments and physicians for coordinated provision of services and/or support of patient care.
- Attends and participates in meetings, and prepares minutes as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a management and/or supervisory capacity required.
