The Opportunity: We are seeking a VP, Mortgage Servicing to join the DFCU Financial team.
What You'll Do:
Servicing Tasks
- Manage loan servicing including payment posting, escrow insurance payments, escrow tax payments, annual escrow analysis, monthly mortgage insurance payments and biannual tax payments to cities and counties.
- Resolve member inquiries and research problem loans.
- Make decisions regarding exceptions to loan servicing policy.
- Coordinate accounting settlement of member payments, general ledger settlement, insurance tracking and monthly regulatory reporting.
- Oversee and coordinate the preparation of discharge of first mortgages.
- Maintain, update, and test servicing system (DNA, Fiserv) and equipment to support operational efficiencies.
Policy & Implementation
- Interact with department management in organizing, planning and implementing department goals and strategic direction.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and metrics to ensure efficient, compliant, and member focused loan servicing department.
Operations & Staff Leadership
- Responsible for servicing operations and staff management, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, performance evaluation and disciplinary actions.
- Train servicing employees in related work area.
- Work with members, employees, and vendors in person and over the phone.
What You'll Need:
- Business degree, or related work experience.
- Five years mortgage or servicing experience.
- Five years supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to servicing and investor guidelines for FNMA, FHLBI, and government loans.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication.
- Computer proficient.
- Consistent positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous and professional attitude.
