The Communications Senior Associate is responsible for maintaining communications plans and programs for a variety of stakeholders within the firm. The position is generally assigned to one or more industries, lines of business or firm initiatives (e.g., global, innovation, etc.) and builds strong relationship directly with CMG teams and leaders in their assigned areas. The senior associate assists in the development of multi-channel, compelling strategies, tactics and deliverables to inform, engage and align stakeholders to firm strategies and business objectives.

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as the communication senior associate for one or more assigned teams
    • Participate in strategy meetings with teams and leaders as appropriate
    • Work with communication manager to develop communications strategies, tactics and deliverables in alignment with RSM's vision, purpose, values and strategies, including directly supporting leader communications
    • Work with communication manager to ensure connectivity and alignment with other industry and firm strategies and initiatives
  • Work with assigned communication manager and team to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to effectively strategize and execute communications to support the firm's strategy and key initiatives
    • Assist in collaboration with the public affairs, thought leadership, marketing, and other functions and outside agency, as needed, to develop media relations strategies for industry, draft news releases and coordinate interviews.
    • Collaborate with the editor and CMG core team to support development and distribution of compelling thought leadership internally and externally.
    • Collaborate with assigned communications manager and counterparts on the public affairs, thought leadership, CMG teams and in other functions to ensure that communications are planned, sequenced and integrated across the enterprise.
    • Collaborate across CMG to ensure activities are aligned and effectively communicated to all key stakeholder groups
  • Work with the assigned communication manager to develop compelling content strategies that inform, engage and inspire
    • Write and edit communications for internal and external audiences in creative ways that inform, engage and inspire appropriate behaviors and actions, including developing tools and templates to be used in the field with a focus on integrating messaging across various programs and channels, whenever possible.
    • Coordinate the logistics of communication campaigns to ensure that all communication and materials are delivered on time and through the proper channels.
    • Publish and deliver content through the firm's internal and external communication platforms, including RSM Power, webcasts, intranet, social media and website.
    • Implement process to monitor flow and quality of content, and measure engagement with content via RSM Power
    • Ensure ongoing development and usage of templates, toolkits and meetings in a box to drive consistent messaging throughout industry communities
    • Help develop standards and processes for gathering and developing content that reinforces the firm's vision, purpose, strategy, values/5C's through industry communities
    • Monitor and evaluate program for continuous improvement.
  • Actively build relationships with team members and key stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in communication team meetings to share ideas and insights to continually improve communication processes, tools and results.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in communications, English or Journalism (required)

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills (required)
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint (required)
  • Dynamic Signal or other social media platforms (preferred)
  • SharePoint (preferred)
  • Yammer (preferred)

EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of corporate communications experience; demonstrated experience working with business teams to develop communications that help achieve desired results; effective presentation and communication skills; ability to learn new subject areas quickly. (required)

LEADERSHIP SKILLS

  • Highly collaborative and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to achieve results (required)
  • Ability to coach stakeholders in developing compelling messaging and delivering effective communications (required)

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $77,700 - $128,200

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
