Position Description

Designs, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics.

Major/Essential Functions

Service Learning & Community Engagement: Design and implement comprehensive service opportunities for students and student organizations, coordinating the office's programming with both internal campus and external partners. Oversee and advise the Ambassador Program, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and student development outcomes while fostering meaningful community connections. (25%)

Curriculum Design & Educational Leadership: Coordinate curriculum development, implementation, delivery, and assessment of student leadership programming. Present educational outreach activities to various stakeholder groups, including student organizations, advisors, incoming students, and the campus community, while advancing philosophies of student development surrounding interpersonal, leadership, and conflict management skills. (25%)

Strategic Program Development & Marketing: Develop and maintain comprehensive marketing and public relations strategies for the Involvement Ambassador Program and associated student leadership initiatives. Research, develop, implement, and evaluate innovative programs to train and support leadership growth, service engagement, and interpersonal skill development across the campus community, applying evidence-based practices in student development theory. (15%)

Stakeholder Relations & Organizational Support: Serve as primary contact for 600+ student organizations in areas of registration, reinstatement, training, programming, and advising. Create and implement strategic partnerships among organizational leaders, members, and advisors to enhance student success outcomes, while facilitating collaborative relationships that promote engagement and leadership development. (15%)

Leadership & Staff Development: Supervise and mentor undergraduate student employees, graduate assistants, student ambassadors, and student organization leaders within assigned program areas. Provide guidance on leadership development, conflict resolution, and professional skill building. Conduct training sessions for student staff and volunteers, focusing on program implementation, customer service excellence, and student development principles. Support the professional growth of student employees through regular feedback, goal setting, and skill-building opportunities. (15%)

Operational Management & Technology Integration: Maintain sophisticated data collection and reporting systems for Student Involvement metrics and outcomes assessment. Provide specialized TechConnect and TechConnect+ training and support to students and departments across campus, while overseeing purchasing and facility management for the Involvement Center to ensure optimal program delivery. (5%)

Strategic Decision-Making & Process Integration: Exercise semi-supervised judgment in conceptualizing and prioritizing complex objectives while organizing work effectively based on institutional policies and procedures. Integrate information, policies, and resources to determine alternative solutions, procedures, and outcomes associated with program coordination and service delivery, demonstrating advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities. (5%)

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects. Additional job related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
