Project Lead - New Store Operations

Job Description

The Special Operations Specialist II monitors and organizes the timely completion of tasks to ensure that store opening goals are accomplished and that communication effectively occurs between the project manager and new store personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in training and guides new store staff through set-up process
  • Executes planograms within allotted time frame
  • Responsible for set up of Display Tables and fixtures according to HFT standards and presentation
  • Maintains detailed daily timeline of assignments and leads team to ensure timely execution
  • Maintains accurate tracking of progress according to predetermined timeline
  • Provides merchandising for store opening
  • Ensures signage is accurate and displayed properly
  • Responsible for pricing of merchandise
  • POS set up
  • Oversees warehouse set-up and freight processing
  • Trains and guides new store staff in safety procedures
  • Facilitates communication between Store Project Manager and the store team
  • Other duties as assigned

Scope:
  • Supervisory Responsibility - n/a
  • Organizational Scope - Works with various departments and outside parties
  • Travel - 90%
  • Equipment Used - computer, printer, copier, fax, forklift, pallet jack, hand and power tools

Requirements

Qualifications - Education and Experience:

  • Prior Management experience 6+ months
  • Retail experience 2+ years
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Effective in giving verbal instruction
  • Computer literate; POS, Excel, Word
  • Cool under pressure
  • Flexible time schedule
  • Collaborates well

Physical Demands - Environment and Work Conditions
Store environment requiring ability to:
  • speak and listen to others in person and over the phone
  • use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports
  • lift up to 50 lbs.
  • follow safety standards during new store construction and completion
  • stand and walk continuously for up to eight hours a day
  • bend, squat, kneel, twist, and reach to heights on an intermittent basis for up to seven hours a day
  • hand manipulation requires simple grasping, power grasping, pushing and pulling of materials, and fine manipulation
  • reach and work above and below the shoulder level is performed on an intermittent basis for up to six hours a day
  • climb up, climb down, and work upon ladders and stairs, including lifting and moving items from elevations
  • drive and work around forklifts
  • lift and carry items weighing twenty five pounds or less up to eight hours a day. Individuals typically lift and carry items weighing between twenty six and fifty pounds on an intermittent basis up to six hours a day
  • work within health and safety standards around construction materials, including dust, noise and airborne particles

Level of language needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization

Level of mathematical skills needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties:
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Level of reasoning skills needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
