Security Officer - Distribution Access Control

As a Security Officer - Distribution Access Control in Charleston, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment within a dynamic logistics and distribution location. Your responsibilities include monitoring entrances and exits, conducting routine patrols, and verifying credentials to manage site access. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out access control procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access to the logistics and distribution location.
• Verify credentials and/or identification of individuals entering or leaving the premises.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to observe for unusual activity or security-related concerns.
• Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and any irregularities according to company procedures.
• Collaborate with site personnel and emergency responders as needed to assist during incidents or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience working at sites with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or a rustic guard shack is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
