These roles provide essential assistance to healthcare professionals in delivering patient care. Ensure the smooth functioning of clinical operations by handling tasks that support the diagnostic, therapeutic, and procedural aspects of patient care. Allied Health - Health Services professionals work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services.
These role encompass a wide range of roles focused on the care, treatment, and maintenance of oral health. Responsibilities focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions affecting the teeth, gums, and other structures of the mouth. Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Typically involves diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, and often include face-to-face interactions with patients. May also spend some time designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. Specialty license or certification required which is acquired through advanced education, training and/or experience. This career stream will be most commonly applied to patient care and/or scientific/laboratory technologist jobs. Requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and require vocational or technical education. Works under moderate supervision. Problems are typically of a routine nature but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Associate's Degree required. Completion of an approved dental hygiene program required. Experience: None. Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Dental Hygienist by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health Professions Board of Dentistry. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling, steps) and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, radiation, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
