The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Grade: Technical 407 Pay Range: $105,600.00 - $158,400.00

Job Description

Job Duties
  • Performs software deployments.
  • Implements and maintains monitoring solutions.
  • Deploys automation of software deployment and automation tools.
  • Increases application and system responsiveness.
  • Monitors performance by anticipating and correcting operational issues before occurrence.
  • Creates more stable operating environments by continuously improving infrastructure to be easily deployable and scalable.
  • Utilizes in-house documentation tools for progressing tickets and gathering approvals for work.
  • Documents progress and reports on delays/roadblocks to leadership.
  • Provides technical and process expertise for various development teams.
  • Participates and possibly leads various maintenance and innovation-based projects.
  • Supports the team's on-call rotation.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
KSAs
  • Comprehensive understanding of AWS core technologies and tools
  • Strong administration knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge and experience scripting/programming in Bash, Java, Python, and Node.js
  • Understanding of DevOps, Scrum, and ITIL concepts
  • Understanding of Virtualization and/or Containerization
  • Understanding of GitFlow model and Continuous Integration with Travis or Jenkins
  • Knowledge and experience using Configuration Management Tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, and SaltStack
  • Knowledge and experience using monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Nagios, CloudWatch, or IPMon
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Self-starter with a drive to work autonomously as a member of a collaborative team
  • Strong service-oriented focus with a customer service attitude
  • Strong analytical skills

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • 3 years of experience working with AWS
  • 5 years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator/Engineer
  • 5 years of experience interfacing with development and/or operational teams
  • 2 AWS Associate Certifications or 1 Professional certificate
  • Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.

  • Linux based certifications

Position & Application Details
