POSITION PURPOSE:

Support emerging finishing technology (i.e. blockless, automation) for manufacturing operations in the US and Industrial lab network through adaptation of the latest generation of Rx Technology, Workshop Organization and IT to provide best in class Rx quality and service. Provide technical support, training resources and lean principles guidance either directly or through coordination of resources.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for key support for the following:


- Product/process launches and deployment

- Audits and protocols

- Analysis of data/trends, structured troubleshooting, problem solving

- Best practicesdocumentation and sharing

- Maintenance and consumables standardization



  • Deploys standardized KPIs for finishing workshop to track efficiency, quality and service across the network..
  • Participates in identifying ELOA manufacturing network constraints on new products/process development and launch for the US zone.
  • Participates in and influences evaluation of any new and major Rx equipment and processes in finishing, including integrated cell modules, automation, and other lean methodologies.
  • Works closely with Global Lens Engineering on standardization of industrialized labs related to area of expertise and responsibility. Works with other Zone Technical support groups to provide a holistic view of the network's health, needs and capabilities.
  • Coaches and trains local teams as needed
  • Supports North American Lab operations and Near Shore Finishing Labs
  • Support and involvement of the finishing Techno club
  • Support ZTS finishing helpdesk.


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Strong expertise in finishing (tracing, blocking, edging, mounting, final inspection, breakage analysis) with at least 5+ years of experience in Industrial edging technology.
  • Deep knowledge of finishingenvironment including machine installation, operation, calibration, repair, maintenance, software manipulation, product specialization and process.
  • Knowledge of automated conveyor systems or willing to learn.
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to others and maintain on-site databases and records accordingly.
  • Strong analytical skills, organized, good communication and rigorous reporting.
  • Ability to evolve in a fast paced, team work environment and to lead technical development projects (of various size and complexity).
  • Eager to learn and constantly improve Technical and Management skills.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking ability
  • Computer skills with ability in Word, Excel, PowerPoint. TeamViewer and Access
  • Ability work both independently and in a team environment, maintaining a good attitude and appearance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Technical writing experience preferred.


Ability to travel up to 75% including internationally.
