Position Title: Scientist Work Location: North Chicago, IL 60064 Assignment Duration: 12 Months Position Summary: We are seeking an BS/MS scientist with strong experience of cell/molecular biology to join our ongoing cross-functional effort of understanding the biology behind the regulation and degradation of the therapeutic protein Botulinum toxin. In this position within the Protein Degradation Platform Team, you will play a key role in driving our effort to understand protein interaction partners of the neurotoxin, as well as driving novel engineering effort to achieve next-generation therapeutic toxin. Key Responsibilities: Broad molecular biology techniques such as PCR, plasmid cloning, Western Blotting, Protein purification. Mammalian cell culture (stable cell lines, iPSCs and primary culture) and transfection (plasmid and lentivirus) Communicate scientific findings as verbal presentations and written reports. Collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate execution on projects within established timelines. Qualifications & Experience: B.Sc/M.Sc. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or a related discipline At least 2 years of molecular/cell biology experience in an academic or industrial research laboratory setting At least 2 years of tissue culture experience Strong attention to detail in maintaining experiment Passion for research and learning new techniques Enthusiasm for collaboration and open science and team-oriented mindset Excellent written and oral communication skills
