Lab Research Analyst II Duke Human Vaccine Institute (DHVI) - Denny Lab Be You. Position Overview: Minimum Requirements: Work requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field. Work requires four years of research experience. A related master's degree may offset required years of experience on a 1:1 basis, e.g., a two year master's degree in lieu of two years of experience. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Preferred Qualifications: N/A Be Bold. Position Description: Prepare and process specimens for complex immunological and virological procedures, including but not limited to PBMC Processing, Flow Cytometry, Cell Culture, SIV Viral Load, HIV Viral Load, EIA, Western Blot, and devise experimental techniques for testing and analysis as directed by laboratory manager. Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures. Manage and coordinate operational policies and procedures; coordinate with research staff on issues which impact laboratory functions. Direct Whole Blood PBMC processing activities as they pertain to data gathering, Troubleshooting, and Training Direct and coordinate the activities of a project(s) with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, and laboratory resources required; coordinate and supervise the performance of routine and specialized technical procedures in the laboratory. Train lower level personnel and peers in research methodology. Supervise the work of lower level employees engaged in the collection and tabulation of data. Choose Duke.
