About the RoleThe entry-level Mechanical Engineer I role focuses on supporting senior engineers in various projects related to mechanical systems, propulsion, structures, or environmental systems. The position involves assisting in the analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems and components, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing technical documentation and reports. The role requires clear communication skills, the ability to follow instructions effectively, and a collaborative approach to achieving project goals and meeting deadlines.

Key responsibilities:
Assist senior engineers in the analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems and components. This involves collecting and analyzing data related to mechanical systems, propulsion, structures, structural analysis, or environmental systems. Additionally, the role requires contributing to the resolution of routine technical problems that are of limited scope and complexity. Preparing technical documentation and reports to communicate findings and support project objectives is another essential aspect of the job. Collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and meet deadlines is critical. Finally, the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and information, both verbally and in writing, is fundamental to the role. About You

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).

  • Typically entry-level 0 - 2 years of experience.

  • Basic understanding of Mechanical Engineering technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts.

  • Basic application and use of technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts.

  • Ability to help develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity.

  • Ability to work in a team and follow guidance from senior engineers

  • Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts and information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship or co-op experience in a mechanical engineering or related environment.

  • Familiarity with design, analysis, and test methods related to mechanical systems, propulsion, structures, and/or
    environmental systems.

  • Familiarity with engineering CAD tools such as NX, SolidWorks, or similar including a familiarity with detail drawing
    standards and GD&T.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, material sciences, and their impact on mechanical systems.

Compensation:

Pay Range:

$75,350.00 - $103,606.25

Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education,experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps

  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity

  • Rarely lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:

  • Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)

  • Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials

  • Rarely exposed to loud noises
