Position Summary

The SCM Warehouse Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse receiving operations, ensuring efficient management of inventory, personnel, and workflow to meet operational objectives. This role will coordinate activities, ensure compliance with safety standards, and maintain high-quality performance levels. The SCM Warehouse Receiving Lead will also play a key role in supporting the inventory team, optimizing processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

This is an onshore US based position within the SCM Warehouse in Morgan City, LA. work schedules are determined by the manager based on business need. Available on an as-needed basis for on-call support, including participation in nights and weekend rotations.


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the receiving team, ensuring timely and accurate receipt, and storage of inventory.
  • Coordinate with team members to maintain a smooth workflow and manage resources effectively to meet production schedules.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels by coordinating inventory counts, monitoring inventory discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with inventory specialists to ensure data accuracy and minimize variances.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards, promoting a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, report hazards, and implement preventive measures.
  • Identify areas for process improvement to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
  • Collaborate with SCM leadership to develop and implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate with assigned work center lead(s).
  • Ensure documentation and materials necessary to perform the work in receiving area are available and maintained.
  • Maintain proper accountability of all materials in the receipt of goods process.
  • Develop product knowledge of those materials used in the manufacture / support of Oceaneering's ROV systems.
  • Perform Night / Weekend / Holiday duty as required by schedule.
  • Back-up for on call personnel.
  • Customer Service Focus.
  • Practice CI concepts to improve processes. Propose possible solutions to problems identified.
  • Learn and continuously use 6S methodologies to drive improvements to the workplace.
  • Performs additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support organizational objectives.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; or, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to lead and motivate a team and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

DESIRED:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Oil & Gas industry experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately.
  • Ensures that regular consistent communication takes place within area of responsibility.
  • Highly organized, process-driven and has strong follow-up skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is considered ONSHORE which is characterized as follows:

  • Working indoors or outdoors during the day and occasionally at night.
  • Climatic and environmental conditions at the job site may include indoor and outdoor climate.
  • Various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment etc.
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
  • Standing for extended periods; Work surface is stable (flat).
  • Working in varying warehouse conditions.
  • Safety gear, including steel-toe boots and safety glasses, must be worn at all times.
  • Requires on-call scheduling, nights and weekend rotations.
