DaVita's Chief People Officer will be a key executive team member, leading the organization through its next phase. The Chief People Officer will be an action-oriented, resourceful, and pragmatic leader with a strong desire to drive high performance and achieve outcomes. This executive will bring outstanding HR strategy and operational skills, and the ability to partner broadly across the leadership team. They will serve as trusted partner and advisor to the Company's executive team, the CEO and the Board, and will be expected to guide leadership through challenging talent and organizational developments.

While cultivating and embracing the culture and purpose that differentiates DaVita as an employer of choice, the Chief People Officer will develop and execute a people strategy, guiding the company through complex trends and changes and providing sound perspective, counsel, and direction to continue modernizing the human resource's function. They will continue to build and refine a high- performing team while supporting and providing leadership in areas including talent acquisition and management, organizational design, compensation and benefits, training and development, workforce planning, and HR information management. They will bring thought leadership and strategy to HR business practices, driving improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will bring depth of HR operating and business experiences, ideally in a growth business with a complex multi-site model analogous to DaVita. General business, financial and analytical skills will be critical to success, in addition to HR functional skills. This role is for a leader who can operate as a broader business executive, bringing humility, confidence, and energy to his/her critical place on the executive team.

As Chief People officer, this executive will model and shape the unique culture of DaVita, in which success of the business and success of its teammates go hand-in- hand.

Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate as a trusted advisor and partner to business executives and field leaders. The Chief People Officer will be a partner and advisor in building and establishing a comprehensive people strategy aligned with organizational goals, objectives, and culture. S/he will be a key support and confidante of the leadership and executive team to anticipate and navigate challenging people and organizational issues.

  • Develop, implement, and scale an aligned people strategy to support growth, bringing best-in-class thinking around workforce management with special emphasis on frontline populations. The ideal candidate will support efforts to efficiently attract, hire, and retain a high volume of talent in partnership with the leadership team and HR team, using appropriate technology and tools. S/he will support talent development and succession planning programs for exceptional talent to meet the company's evolving business needs across the enterprise, particularly helping to increase retention of front-line employees in the first year. S/he will employ the necessary resources to rethink workforce planning as the business evolves and the dynamics of teams change.

  • Drive and support effectiveness of employee lifecycle programs including on-boarding, performance management, bonus program, merit cycle and goal setting. Support creative compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with the business strategy and company culture. Serve as the principal point of engagement with the Compensation Committee.

  • Build on DaVita's strong culture as an employer of choice. Drive focus and performance on a broad- based effort to recruit, develop, motivate, and retain exceptional talent. Play a critical role in the ongoing external employer brand to attract top talent.

  • Provide thought leadership in areas of culture and purpose, succession and talent, compensation, leadership performance, and team effectiveness. Implement and customize contemporary best practices into people management processes throughout the business.

  • Effectively communicate people strategies, policies, and processes across the organization.

  • Build, enhance, lead, and retain a high-performing team that exemplifies and reinforces DaVita's mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

Functional Experiences:

  • Strategic Partner for executive team on all matters related to people talent, a strong voice advocating for programs and driving solutions that align with business goals

  • Proven ability to lead an HR team, in particular building and scaling high-functioning teams in fast- paced environments

  • Proven ability developing talent, with a focus on attracting, retaining, and upskilling a diversified workforce, with a focus on the front-line

  • Experience increasing efficiency and effectiveness of HR business processes and leveraging technology

Career Experiences:

  • Experience in B2C services with multi-site operations

  • Broad exposure and experience with progressive HR practices, data, and analytics that can demonstrate meaningful improvement in organizational effectiveness over time.

  • Experience working with the Board of Directors preferred.

  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.

The Salary Range for the role is $236,000.00 - $358,000.00/year.
