Overview
The Project Manager III reports to the Asset Renewal Program Manager and is responsible for managing the development and implementati on of work packages and Task Orders.This individual also provides direction and input on projects from the design development stage through construction. The characteristic of the candidate is a well-rounded individual who has managed pre-construction and construction services in a large airport environment, with an emphasis and understanding of MEP systems.The ability to lead a collaborati on of stakeholders,designers and contractors will be critical to the program's success. The Asset Renewal Program replaces end-of-life airport assets, primarily MEP fire and security systems, vertical and horizontal transportation systems, building enclosure assemblies, below-grade utility systems, baggage systems, and passenger boarding bridges.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties
Working with team members and airport management to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
- Provide input, review, and initial approval of the TOS acquisition submittal packages prior to ocial submittal to determine accuracy and completeness and compliance to LAWA DCH
- Provide initial draft of NTP letters and support documents including supplemental conditions as may be necessary for clarication of project conditions and all other supporting documentation as requested by Program Manager.
- Facilitate the coordination of design related requests for Building Modications.
- Lead the review and approval of exemption requests as may be required to amend design documents. Accept, reject, or mitigate these requests as may be appropriate.
- Lead preconstruction meetings to facilitate the proper start of the project.
- Lead and document Weekly Meetings.
- Coordinate with all Airport Stakeholders to facilitate goals and objectives for administrative, technical, engineering through closeout functions.
- Managing project scope to meet or exceed project goals and objectives.
- Document and maintain all project correspondence, including all related agreements, authorizations, reports, drawings and specications. This also includes the written scopes of work, submittal and BIM deliverables, Weekly Meetings minutes, etc.
- Coordinate with the Design Manager during both the design and construction phases of the projects. Collaborate closely to resolve technical design issues and to address non-compliance issues.
- Coordinate shop drawing reviews, mockup requirements and approvals, and participation in and approval of factory and site acceptance tests.
- Participate in testing and commissioning activities, managing the punch list process, and other activities as required to ensure that the processes and requirements to close out a LAWA project are adhered to and followed to ensure all documentation is completed as quickly as possible to eciently close the project.
- Monitor all Agencies Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) in obtaining the review and approval of permits to construct the project.
- Enforce the requirements of the LAWA Design and Construction Handbook (DCH), in eect at the time the project is designed. Ensure that any approved revisions or deviations are documented and tracked for future reference during construction and closeout. Enforce supplemental Design Guidelines as may come into eect or are in eect from time to time.
- Thoroughly understand the agreements and amendments between the design professionals and/or contractors and LAWA in terms of legal and performance requirements including procurement delivery schedules, component delivery dates, pending notices (NTP, BOAC Action's, TOC, SC, etc.), requiring the support of the project manager.
- Anticipate, identify, and resolve any program conicts related to design, construction, operations, commissioning, safety and Actively liaise with Airport Operations, Facilities Maintenance & Utilities, CDD, Planning, IMT, Shutdown Control Center (SCC), Airport Police Division (APD), and Inspection.
- Facilitate ASR and USR meetings with Airport Operations to review short-term and long-term detailed execution plans with contractors ahead of SCC application.
- Manage process ow of the submittal and RFI process.
- Ensuring all work is being performed with and inspected to the latest versions of plans and specications including approved changes, submittals, and RFI's.
- Preparing reports summarizing progress of construction activities for senior management.
- Review Change Proposals for contractual compliance and alignment with fair market value.
- Prepare monthly risk report.
- Monitoring adherence to the quality assurance/quality control plan, and other documents as required and promoting excellence on the project through the application of quality assurance processes.
- Reviewing pay applications to ensure proper verication of completed work and compliance with contract requirements.
- Participating in all necessary coordination meetings with the designer, contractor, and applicable stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and grow your sta.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning or other related technical eld required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Relevant professional licensure and/or certication are strongly Certications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc.
Hardware/Software Knowledge
- Procient in Microsoft Oce Suite and Bluebeam.
- Familiarity with Project Management Information Systems.
- Ability to work in CAD or REVIT a plus.
Professional Experience Level/Other Qualications
- 15 years or more experience, preferably on airport projects.
- Experience with projects more than $50 million in value.
- Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build.
- Proven ability to perform in a project management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
- Must have a self-starter attitude with proactive, results-oriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilities.
- Must be able to interface with a variety of people with dierent technical levels and educational backgrounds.
- Must be detail oriented and highly organized.

Wage Data Per State Requirements
Salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
