We are searching for a tech-savvy individual who is eager to learn new technologies and has creative problem-solving skills. As a member of the Corporate Systems & Solutions (CSS) GEICO Organization, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact and secure the Workday SaaS environment, support the technical infrastructure of our finance systems, and guide the integration of applications into the Azure cloud.

We are seeking a self-starter with experience in programming languages such as PowerShell, BASH, C#/.NET, JavaScript, Python, JSON, YAML, and Web APIs, and a drive to continuously improve. The ideal candidate has excellent TCP/IP networking, firewalls, and database administration skills, and can communicate effectively with technical teams, business executives, and end-users.

As a senior systems engineer, you will play a crucial role in migrating applications to the cloud infrastructure, improving system performance, and configuring Windows/Linux servers. You will collaborate with leadership from Finance HR, and Technology to develop solutions, troubleshoot deployment and configuration issues, and automate infrastructure monitoring. You will also be a key player in our on-call rotation, providing outstanding customer support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Migrating eligible applications from on-prem to cloud infrastructure, ensuring performance, scalability, and reusability.
  • Improving system performance by examining code and configurations.
  • Implementing proactive monitoring and redundancy for high system availability.
  • Configuring Windows/Linux servers and troubleshooting issues.
  • Working with leadership from Finance, HR, and Technology to develop solutions.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving deployment/configuration issues and participating in our on-call rotation.
  • Automating infrastructure monitoring to identify issues and root cause.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • 5 years of DevOps experience with cloud migration (Azure, Oracle, AWS) with a preference for Microsoft Azure Cloud.
  • 5 years of experience supporting Windows Servers, Active Directory, AD Azure, ADFS, SSO, IP Address Management, Firewalls, TLS Certificates, Load Balancing, and security compliance principles.
  • 5 years of experience supporting systems from an infrastructure, code, database, and security perspective.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business executives, technical teams, and end-users.
  • 3 years of Workday security experience, including knowledge of supporting BP's, Integrations, reporting and security changes for Finance and HCM (ideal but not required).
  • 3 years of Workday functional area knowledge, including Financials and HCM, and peripheral operational knowledge (ideal but not required).
  • 3 years of application development and script automation experience.
  • 3 years of experience in large enterprise environments, including cloud platform architecture design (Azure).
  • 3 years of experience with relational databases using SQL Server and writing complex database queries.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Azure certification (AZ-900/SC-900) or other Microsoft Azure certifications.
  • Workday Security Pro certification and experience with Workday Security Configuration, Report Writing, and Integrations.
  • Proven experience with scripting for automation (PowerShell, Linux/Unix BASH, JavaScript, JSON, YAML, Python, Perl, C++, or C#).
  • Proven knowledge of SCM solutions (Git, GitLab) and experience with building automation, release management, and system testing.
  • Understanding of financial, business, and technical constraints.
  • Ability to document and maintain software platform standards for corporate use.

Annual Salary

$72,000.00 - $138,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
