Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position located at University Hospital in Madison, WI. Core working hours are from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM. Occasional morning meetings may be required; these will be scheduled in advance.

We are seeking an Environmental Services Manager to:

  • Lead 24/7 Environmental Services operations across multiple UW Health locations, including oversight of 2nd and 3rd shift teams
  • Ensure exceptional cleanliness, safety, and infection prevention in clinical, inpatient, procedural, and public spaces
  • Coach, develop, and support supervisors and frontline staff-building engaged, high-performing teams
  • Manage labor, productivity, budgets, and regulatory compliance while driving operational excellence
  • Partner cross-functionally with clinical and operational leaders to support patient care and facility needs

A day in the life
No two days are the same. You might start by connecting with your overnight team, rounding in inpatient units, collaborating with nursing leaders, and following up on service opportunities-all while keeping an eye on staffing, quality metrics, and operational priorities. Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree Two (2) years of relevant work experience would be considered in lieu of degree. Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Work Experience
  • 5 years progressively responsible relevant experience with at least one (1) year supervisory or managerial experience in an acute care facility. Required
  • 5 years of managerial experience in a hospital facility. Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP). Preferred
  • If position requires driving a company vehicle, the following requirements apply:
    * Must be 21 years of age to drive a UW Health Fleet vehicle and must be 25 years of age to drive a UW Health vehicle rated for 15 or more passengers.
    * Ability to be insured by Hospital's risk management insurer which requires (1) a valid Wisconsin Driver's License and (2) successfully passing a driving background check.
