Description We are seeking a self-sufficient Field Network Technician to support infrastructure refresh and network maintenance projects across southern Connecticut. This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring the ability to work independently at client sites - including bank corporate and branch locations. including possibly data centers. The technician will serve as the on-site eyes and hands, executing tasks. Skills Router, Troubleshooting, switches, rack stack, Cabling, phones, low voltage certification, data center, ATM, Banking infrastructure Top Skills Details Router, Troubleshooting, switches, rack stack, Cabling, phones Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision Working knowledge of network switches (rack mounting, basic configuration, console access via Putty or similar) Understanding of structured cabling fundamentals: Cat6 pinouts (T568A/B), max run distances (~300 ft), termination, and testing Ability to terminate cable at patch panels and jacks; use a cable tester to verify connectivity Familiarity with IP phones - ability to reset and reconfigure when walked through steps Professional cable dressing skills (labeling, routing, tie-wrapping neatly) Reliable transportation; valid driver's license Own a 6-foot ladder (minimum) Strong communication skills - must work effectively with remote engineers and dispatchers Experience Level* Intermediate Level Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Haven, CT. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
