Site Reliability Administrator

Position Summary:

The Site Reliability Administrator (SRA) will provide support to end users on a variety of IT issues. The position will identify, research, and resolve IT technical problems. The position will respond to IT client requests for service. The SRA will document, track, and monitor IT problems to ensure timely resolution in a ticket tracking system. The SRA is responsible for furnishing our users with the tools and support they need to perform their tasks optimally while ensuring company security.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Day-to-day service of tickets in the ticket queue system
  • Provide help desk support in-person, over the phone and with remote access tools
  • Configure, maintain, and support PCs and laptops
  • Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot a variety of software and hardware
  • Create, manage, and maintain network/email accounts
  • Manage hardware inventory
  • Create documentation for end users (i.e. how to use manuals, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot remote access issues
  • Install and support network printers and faxes
  • Setup and troubleshoot mobile devices such as iPhones and Androids
  • Provide new employee user IT orientation and training
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Administer desktops, software licensing, Active Directory, and Cisco network access switches
  • Manage Microsoft workstation patching update server
  • Manage Microsoft Deployment Server
  • Process user onboarding and terminations
  • Move user's complete user pc setups from desk to desk as required by office reshuffling.
  • Dependable, reliable, and predictable attendance is required
  • On call rotation for 24/7 support required
  • Working in close proximity with the Site Reliability Engineers and the Reliability Team to solve a wide array of technical challenges.


Education/Experience/Skills

Basic Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 3 years minimum prior desktop support experience required (or equivalent)
  • Experience with Helpdesk ticketing systems
  • Experience with Server hardware a plus
  • Ability to prioritize assigned projects, help desk calls, and emails
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move computer, desks and A/V equipment
  • Availability for on-call rotation for 24 x 7 support
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of hardware and software issues
  • Must have strong customer service, time management, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Flexibility and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Energy industry experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to complete long term, multi-faceted projects will be required


Preferred Requirements:



  • Certifications: MCTS / MCP or related a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • Experience with Windows Server a plus
  • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 operating systems
  • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft tools including Office 2016, Office 365


  • Advanced Knowledge of PC hardware


  • Experience with laptops and desktop hardware troubleshooting required (Dell a plus)
  • Understanding of networking technologies and protocols such as basic IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and VPN client configuration


Physical Demands:

The job will require sitting in an indoor office environment, the need to visually read various written materials including, but not limited to paper documents and computer monitors. The job may also require standing, bending, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, crouching, driving, and airline travel. The incumbent will have the ability to use standard office equipment such as PC, printer, telephone, calculator, and copy and fax machines. Travel required to meetings in other office buildings including local and domestic.
