Job Summary:

The Sr Director of Marketing (Wound and Skin Care) is responsible for all North America marketing activities related to Wound Care and Skin Care across the US and Canadian markets. This position has responsibility for upstream and downstream marketing, marketing communications, sales training, and clinical consulting. Focus is on driving revenue growth and supporting our ambitious growth and profitability goals. The Sr Director of Marketing leads the Wound and Skin Care marketing and marketing communications teams to establish the strategic marketing plan and leads the design and execution of short-term and long-term marketing initiatives. This includes setting the direction and leading the Clinical Consulting team to ensure alignment with business goals. Additionally, the Sr Director of Marketing leads Sales Training for the Wound and Skin Care business which includes setting the strategy and executing sales training to drive sales excellence for the entire sales force: new hires and current sales team members. The Sr Director of Marketing is a member of the NA Wound and Skin Care Leadership Team which develops the long-term strategy for the overall business to deliver growth and profitability targets.

Major Areas of Accountability:



  • Drives and supports revenue growth, pricing, profitability and commercialization of wound care business area, where Coloplast has little market share and is introducing many new products
  • Drives and supports revenue growth, pricing, profitability and commercialization of skin care business area, where Coloplast has a mature product portfolio and needs to maintain a leadership market share.
  • Oversees full portfolio management for NA Wound and Skin Care products, including portfolio analysis, pricing guidelines, recommendations on strategic and tactical plan to align with trends in the market, SKU rationalization, and maintaining full portfolio profitability
  • Leads the Wound and Skin Care Marketing team making strategic choices in new product launches and developing and implementing launches to promote new business opportunities, growth and financial profitability.
  • Influences and inspires Global teams to consider US and Canadian market trends and needs in new products, campaigns, and programs
  • Identifies growth opportunities; creates and implements marketing programs and market development initiatives targeted at key customers to grow the NA business
  • Defines and articulates the value proposition for the NA Wound and Skin Care business and its products
  • Drives the development of business strategies by capturing and mining market insight and translating it into actionable, differentiated programs across the full WSC NA portfolio of products and programs
  • Proactively manages downstream product needs in support of NA marketing strategies, and provides market assessments, unit forecasts and sales expectations for upstream products to Global Wound Care Marketing to prepare for future product launches
  • Proactively manages upstream skin care product needs and leads development of business cases to acquire necessary resources and deliver projects
  • Represents NA Wound and Skin Care in Coloplast's Global Marketing Leadership Group
  • Manages the development and implementation of promotional materials to support product launches, campaigns, programs, clinical in-services and product commercialization materials, including packaging and labeling
  • Champions product commercialization activities across several functional areas, including: executive management, global marketing, sales, key accounts, national accounts, supply chain, legal and regulatory affairs, finance, contracts, pricing and research and development
  • Manages strategies around key competitors' differentiating factors, strategic initiatives, competitive positioning, pricing and market share
  • Leads the development of a sales training strategy, field sales trainer program, and execution of sales training for new hire onboarding and on-going education & training of the sales team
  • Leads the internal and external communication strategy and execution for North America Wound and Skin Care, including but not limited to management of external creative agencies, journals, associations, and digital partners
  • Leads the strategy, design, execution and ensures impactful presence at industry tradeshows and events.
  • Leads the strategy, design, and execution of annual North American sales meeting and bi-annual mid-year sales meetings
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry key opinion leaders to cultivate advocacy for Coloplast
  • Ensure compliance with HCP interactions through selection of KOLs, execution of contracts and payment of invoices
  • Manages discretionary NA Wound and Skin Care marketing budget with P&L accountability to meet top- and bottom-line business objectives
  • Ensure all programs are aligned with Coloplast's mission, values and vision, with the Code of Conduct, and with corporate brand guidelines
  • Management and development of a team with diverse skill sets and backgrounds (nursing, sales, marketing)
  • Other duties as assigned



Essential Qualifications:



  • BS/BA in Business or Marketing; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years marketing experience; healthcare or medical device industry preferred
  • 5+ years experience working in the acute care environment preferred
  • 7+ years of formal team leadership and people development experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of functions
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functions to prioritize and drive strategic objectives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical ability; applies a data-driven approach to problem solving and decision making
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation, with a strong sense of accountability
  • Aptitude to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines for self and others
  • Adaptability to realign initiatives quickly to meet shifts in the market
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated awareness and competencies in digital marketing trends and platforms


  • International and Domestic travel required (25-40%)
