Product Design Operations Manager

The Opportunity

The Product Design Operations Manager will lead and oversee our product design team operations. The manager will amplify the impact of design throughout Berkadia. You will have an affinity for operational execution by demonstrating strong communication, building relationships with key stakeholders with a strong focus on people and process.

• Assess and improve flows of communication from working teams up to design leadership, and outward to cross-functional partners, the executive team, and the company including team health reporting and support
• Understanding of change management practices for scaling teams
• Strategic acumen and the foresight to anticipate complex, cross functional problems
• Ability to manage cross functional initiatives with many stakeholders within design and outside, across business units
• Exceptional communication at every level of the business, influencing executives and inspiring team members
• Ability to advocate for designers and design as a practice
• Cultivation of relationships and capability of creating a sense of community for distributed teams
• Understanding of design sprints and managing a design backlog
• Experience in creation and roll-out of broad team building programs such as a mentoring program is a plus
• Other duties as assigned

What someone will need to be successful in this role

• 5+ years of operational or program management experience
• Experienced with project management tools, including Azure DevOps, Sharepoint, and not only in how to use them but in how to build systems
• Proficiency in excel (can perform complex functions) and understand how KPIs translate to our goals
• Experience in user-centered design process, methodologies, and standards
• Experience working within technical and engineering organizations and keeping them updated on design progress
• Operational thinker who is constantly seeking to learn new things with a passion for fostering a healthy creative culture
• Familiarity with design tools
