Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to gain experience while providing support to essential Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT) functions. This position will support the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) which monitors for, analyzes, and responds to cyber incidents affecting state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) governments.

What You'll Do

    Support and utilize the Security Operations malware analysis platform
  • Assist CIRT Analysts with tasks related to incident response, malware analysis, and computer forensics services
  • Integrate and share information with other analysts and teams
  • Assist with the automation of CIRT processes, to include scripting
  • Learn digital forensics and malware analysis tools and techniques
  • Gain understanding of cyber incident responses processes via live training with analysts
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned


What You'll Need

  • Undergraduate college student (Junior or Senior)
  • Knowledge of common Internet protocols, applications, and cyber threats
  • Knowledge of basic incident response and forensic techniques
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • The position is open to U.S. citizens and requires a favorably adjudicated DHS Fitness Review for Public Trust Positions**

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Current or former graduate student
  • Scripting abilities (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Work experience with common Internet protocols, applications, and cyber threats
  • Work experience with incident response and forensic techniques

  • Alcohol Abuse
  • Drug Use (illegal drug use or use of a legal drug in a manner that deviates from approved medical direction) Additionally, illegal drug use includes the use of drugs that are illegal for federal purposes despite being legal in select states and countries, such as marijuana.
