The Data Analyst will report into the Director of Data Analytics and is responsible for regularly analyzing our university partners' performance and providing insights and root cause analysis to the business and helping them to continuously identify areas of improvement. He/she will utilize their superior visualization and analytical abilities to help our stakeholders to better forecast demand, track performance, and assess the impact of operational changes on the business. They will assist in the development of predictive models that help the business to better understand the primary drivers of performance. They will work closely with our stakeholders to understand their business questions, translate those questions into an analytical strategy, and execute that strategy in order to provide the needed insights to move the business forward.

Responsibilities include:


  • Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards to help our stakeholders track the trends of key performance indicators.
  • Field ad hoc data analytic requests and provide the Business with data and insights to answer their immediate business questions.
  • Create and maintain Excel based reports to regularly track business performance.
  • Assist in wrangling/transforming data needed to build predictive models.
  • Assist in building and operationalizing supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms.
  • Work closely with the Information Technology team on all MDM and Data Governance improvement initiatives where analytic support is needed.
  • Work closely with the Performance Analyst team and functional stakeholders to regularly identify areas for improvement and potential opportunities from observed data trends.
  • Test the impact of operational and marketing changes and perform ROI analyses to quantify the value of these improvements.
  • Own the enrollment forecasting process and build/maintain a model to better predict new weekly enrollments.
  • At the direction of the Business Analytics leadership, work collaboratively with other stakeholders to provide the business with analysis on insights into areas of opportunity across the organization.


Qualifications include:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of corporate experience managing, manipulating, visualizing, modeling and creating insights from data.
  • Expert using SQL to collect, clean and join data from disparate traditional and cloud-based databases, and performing descriptive/diagnostic analytics on resulting datasets to create insights for business stakeholders.
  • Experience with A/B testing methodologies.
  • Experience building predictive models in Python or R.
  • Expert creating world class visualizations using Tableau and/or Power BI to help business stakeholders easily identify performance trends and diagnose areas for improvement.
  • Experience in building, maintaining and continuously improving operational or demand forecasting models preferred.
  • Highly proficient with Excel formulas and macros, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Solid understanding of relational database structure and data management principles.
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Big Query preferred.
  • Solid understanding of sales funnels and experience analyzing CRM data preferred
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities.
  • Strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes and projects simultaneously.
  • Proven effective communication, collaboration and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate difficult messages while being able to maintain strong relationships. Seen as a trusted advisor to functional leaders across the business.
