Introduction

Job Description The Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking a regular part-time Program Assistant for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. This position responds directly to those receiving ACT either by phone or office walk-ins, delivers customer service and supports program operations in an office-based role. Primary responsibilities include providing direct support to staff, including monitoring and coordinating daily team schedules and supporting staff both in the office and field, serving as a liaison between staff and those supported in the program, facilitating the daily team meeting, meeting with individuals for program registration and fee assessments, collecting medical billing information and determine eligibility for service fee reductions based upon program guidelines, verifying insurance benefits, and entering demographic data in an Electronic Health Record. Ideal candidates will possess exceptional customer service skills, have knowledge of basic medical terminology, insurance benefits and medical billing protocols and must be technically proficient in Microsoft Office applications with a focus on Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word. Operational activities such as creating spreadsheets to support program operations for compliance with the Tool for the Measurement of Assertive Community Treatment (TMACT), DBHDS & DMAS regulations. Hiring salary is commensurate with experience Job Requirements High School diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of related administrative work experience, preferably in a medical office or health and human services setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Post Conditional Offer Contingencies Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV, and TB test.
