Systems Administrator

As a Systems Administrator, you will be part of the Linux Administration team responsible for managing our middleware tier on RedHat and SUSE Linux in on-prem virtualized environment utilizing VMware and DR environment in AWS. This position will work closely with other teams - DevOps, Windows, Network, VMWare, Database and Security to maintain and seek ways to advance capabilities including expanding into the cloud infrastructure.

In this role you will:

• Ensure effective daily operations of company's virtualized Linux systems in production, test and development environments; resolve help center tickets, performance and functional issues pertaining to Linux, middleware tier (primarily JBoss) and VMWare
• Be responsible for monitoring, alerting and reporting issues pertaining to Linux, Middleware and VMWare
• Administer, install, upgrade, patch, migrate and maintain RHEL, JBoss and VMWare
• Enhance/automate platform services using Ansible, Cloud Formation, Terraform, Jenkins and other DevOps tools
• Enhance and automate deployment and configuration management using latest technologies
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams, application development teams, testing and release teams to build out new environments and improve systems and processes wherever possible
• Provide on-call, 24x7 support, for production systems.
• Implement corrective procedures to resolve issues and minimize unplanned system outages
• Maintain and test replication, backup and recovery procedures to insure system recoverability including disaster recovery. Clearly document processes and results
• Remain abreast of industry trends and new developments to maintain leading edge

This is the role for you if:

• You have experience with AWS/AZURE deployments/technologies
• You hold Professional Certifications in Linux, VMWare or AWS/AZURE
• You have experience developing automation scripts using Bash, Ansible or Terraform

• You have a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
• You have 5 - 10 years' IT experience in UNIX or Linux Administration. VMWare a plus
• You have strong working knowledge in other infrastructure disciplines including Database, Network, Storage and Security
