About this Position:

The primary mission of this position is to lead activities related to equipment characteristic improvement for the Marysville Weld Department. This will be accomplished by performing true root cause analysis of top problems and implementing countermeasures. The goal is to facilitate department S, Q, and D metric target achievement.

Responsibilities include:

Manufacturing Equipment Expert:



  • Equipment top problem root cause analysis and permanent countermeasure.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends related to equipment performance.
  • Identify improvement opportunities for Key Performance Indicators and for cost avoidance/elimination.
  • Lifecycle management of manufacturing equipment. (Spare Parts, Procedures, PMs).


Project Management:



  • Define and create scope of design and construction for renovation, upgrade of existing electrical systems, or for build of a new system with a focus on cost control.
  • Conduct PDCA during design and implementation stage.
  • Create, implement and maintain project schedules and achieve desired results.
  • Review, verify and approve electrical drawings/designs at the various design completion levels.
  • Work with and manage contractors' activities throughout the different phases of a project.



Project Activity:



  • Perform electrical equipment reliability and PM Confirmation activities.
  • Develop spare parts lists and callouts to improve MTTR.
  • Ensure proper spare parts are stocked in MRO (NM Tooling).
  • Lead and support modifications/installation projects.
  • Pre-equipment install and site prep activities.
  • Support New Model team with design, manufacturing, and install of new equipment.


Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:



  • If Bachelor's in Electrical Engineer, you must have at least 3yrs.
  • If you do not have experience, then you must have up to 8 years in related field.


Required Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related experience


Desired skills:



  • PLC (Allen-Bradley, Omron)
  • Robot (Fanuc, Motoman)
  • AutoCAD
  • MS Office
  • Equipment design
  • Equipment PM and reliability understanding, and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication and presentation skills


Other Details:



  • Work at the spot, in the factory
  • 60% Office environment, 40% Production Floor environment
  • About 2 weeks of travel domestic and international and 300-500 hours of OT annually
